Despite the generosity of millions, some victims of Hurricane Katrina
remain overlooked. On November 1st at Sin-e six bands will offer
asmall remedy: they will play to benefit Reprieve (US), a New Orleanscharity
that provides legal and humanitarian aid to the families of people
on Louisiana's death row and exonerated death row prisoners
affected by the storm.
"Countrypolitan" HEM - just off a tour with Elvis Costello
and insupport of a critically touted new record, Eveningland - will
headlinethe benefit. Organized by friends of Reprieve (US), the
event will also feature American Altitude, The Waylons, The Teenage
Prayers, The White Elephant Club and Tiny Amps. All door proceeds
will go to Reprieve, after club costs.
